Jeremy served as a Medic in the Australian Regular Army for 7 years. Qualified as an Underwater Medicine Clinician, Jeremy served within Special Operations Command for 4 years, which included a deployment to Afghanistan as a platoon medic. Upon returning from overseas, Jeremy served in the ADF’s domestic Counter Terrorism team, Tactical Assault Group- East, for 12 months until discharging to become a civilian Intensive Care Paramedic in NSW. Jeremy remained a reservist for a number of years with 1st Commando Regt where he played an integral part in developing medical pre-deployment training for SOCOMD. Jeremy founded TacMed in 2010 to equip those people who put their lives at risk for others.
Adam spent 12 years in the Australian Army as a medic, finishing his time in Special Operations Command. He has operational and training deployments to South East Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East. During his time in SOCOMD he graduated from a foreign special operations medic course, deployed to Afghanistan and was a member of TAG (East). Since leaving the military he took a position on a diplomatic protection team in Iraq and is now a flight paramedic on a rescue helicopter in Australia. He has diploma level training design and delivery qualifications as well as a Diploma of Paramedical Science and a Bachelor of Clinical Practice. Throughout his career he has developed a keen interest in tactical medicine, casualty access/recovery and extended care operations. He now has a passion for law enforcement tactical medicine and providing quality medical training to those who place themselves in harms way.
Dr Dan completed his medical schooling on an Army scholarship and served the majority of his military career with Special Operations Units, including four tours of Afghanistan and over 100 combat missions. Dr Dan was awarded the Commendation for Distinguished Service for his conduct in action on his second tour of Afghanistan. During his military service Dr Dan served as an Australian medical liaison to the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care, as well as representing Australian Special Operations at the NATO Special Operations Forces Medical Expert Panel. Dr Dan holds a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and is an instructor on the Royal Australian College of Surgeon’s Early Management of Severe Trauma Course. Dr Dan currently works as the Deputy Medical Superintendent of a regional hospital and serves as a tactical medical advisor to a number of Police Tactical Groups and Other Government Agencies. He is currently studying towards a Master of Business Administration, which he is due to complete in 2016.
Ben spent 10 years in the Australian Army before starting at Tacmed. He began his service as an infantryman and then transferred to become a Medic. Ben’s passion for medicine developed after he completed a Combat First Aid Course and this led to him becoming a SOCOMD Platoon Medic, where he deployed on Combat Operations as Part of the Special Operations Task Group. Ben has seen operational service in a multitude of domestic and international operations including Afghanistan, Iraq, Timor-Leste, and the Solomon Islands. Ben’s qualifications include a Diploma of Paramedical Science and Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment. Ben has a passion for tactical and remote area medicine and takes pride in passing on his knowledge and experience.
