C.A.T Tourniquet Gen7
Regular price $65.95 Save $-65.95TacMed Australia is now stocking the Combat Application Tourniquet (C.A.T)- Gen7. It has all the great features of the Gen 6 C.A.T but has added features including the NEW Single Routing Buckle for faster application, decreased blood loss, effective slack removal, fewer windlass turns, and simplified training with single protocol application standards
The C-A-T is a small and lightweight arterial tourniquet that completely occludes blood flow in an extremity. Used for the treatment of life-threatening bleeding, the C-A-T Tourniquet uses a Self-Adhering Band and a Friction Adaptor Buckle to fit a wide range of extremities combined with a one-handed windlass system. The windlass uses a free moving internal band to provide true circumferential pressure to an extremity. The windlass is then locked in place; this requires only one hand, with the Windlass Clip. The C-A-T Tourniquet also has a Hook-and-Loop Windlass Strap for further securing of the windlass during patient transport.
Note - Blue colour option is traditionally used as a training version.
Features:
- Proven Performance: Field-tested and approved by the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research.
- Quick Application: Simple one-handed application for self-use or assisting others.
- Durable Construction: Built to withstand harsh conditions and intense use.
- Compact Design: Lightweight and easy to carry in first aid kits or on duty belts.
- Trusted Worldwide: Used by professionals in combat and civilian emergencies.

Combat Gauze
It’s expensive. Delivery time was fast. Because i only just received it and have been asked multiple times for a review, I have only these comments to offer.

Great kit supply.
I am fully aware of how these are thought of, however I will not know until the Chinese start sending missiles into the Sunshine coast or I am involved in civilian trauma. I expect the former to be more likely but think we have at least 12 months to read up and watch videos to support recent training. Tongue in cheek, finger on trigger. Only joking but as a nurse I expect the **** to hit the fan sooner than later.

Quikclot
Price is always worth the lifesaving capacity provided by haemostatic gauze, this is a very high quality and proven product.

Gauze
High quality product and best practice product for wound packing.

Quickclot
Great price. Hopefully will not need to use it.

Bleeding control kit
Grate kit. Only issue was it didn’t come in a vacuum seal bag like it did in the photos. It would of made it more convenient to store in a medkit as well in a vacuum sealed bag

Very good quality thanks

Peace of mind
I like that this product is in a vacuum sealed pack. This ensures that items can't be robbed from the kit and it is complete if/when it is required.

5.11 UCR IFAK
This is a great kit. It comes with an elastic/velcro strap so you can attach it to the headrest on your car or other suitable location. I like the loops on the outside as you can slide trauma shears or a sharpie in there for quick access. It is bigger than the Operator IFAK pouch and holds a few extra things. I leave this in the truck and use it as my main trauma kit to supplement the Operator IFAK which is my EDC. When I did the THREAT course through Careflight I learnt that you need to have the ability to move quickly and take everything with you so the pouch system of this pack works a bit better than the zip-open clamshell design of the Operator IFAK. It's just a bit easier to jam stuff back in securely if you have to move. Both kits are great in their own way and contain the same items. Your circumstances will dictate the best one for you.
