C.A.T Tourniquet - G7
Regular price $65.95 Save $-65.95TacMed Australia is now stocking the COMBAT APPLICATION TOURNIQUET (C.A.T)- G7. It has all the great features of the Gen 6 C.A.T but has added features including the NEW Single Routing Buckle for faster application, decreased blood loss, effective slack removal, fewer windlass turns, and simplified training with single protocol application standards
COMBAT APPLICATION TOURNIQUET (CAT) G7
The CAT (Combat Application Tourniquet) is a small and lightweight arterial tourniquet that completely occludes blood flow in an extremity. Used for the treatment of life-threatening bleeding, the C.A.T Tourniquet uses a Self-Adhering Band and a Friction Adaptor Buckle to fit a wide range of extremities combined with a one-handed windlass system. The windlass uses a free moving internal band to provide true circumferential pressure to an extremity. The windlass is then locked in place; this requires only one hand, with the Windlass Clip. The C.A.T Tourniquet also has a Hook-and-Loop Windlass Strap for further securing of the windlass during patient transport.
Note - Blue colour option is traditionally used as a training version.

Strong, sturdy, easy to apply and straight forward, hoping not to get shot or lose a limb to test out its full capability.

Great little pack and cost effective
TacMed Australia
Hi Reuben! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us 5 stars on our TacMed Bleeding Control Kit. We're so happy you like it! Team TacMed
Bleeding control kit
Grate kit. Only issue was it didn’t come in a vacuum seal bag like it did in the photos. It would of made it more convenient to store in a medkit as well in a vacuum sealed bag
Very good quality thanks
Peace of mind
I like that this product is in a vacuum sealed pack. This ensures that items can't be robbed from the kit and it is complete if/when it is required.
Essential, just short of perfect
The only thing that lets down this kit is the shears. As they're part of the first stage of patient assessment, they're also the first critical fail point. They MAY be OK for thin single layers, (t-shirts etc) but not much else. Most likely break in the prosess of accessing the wound site. Forget denim jeans, motorcycle apparel or seatbelt or ballistic armour webbing. Fortunately, I've broken them during training and going for my Xshears has got me through assessment. Obviously included to maintain an affordable point, the shears feel flimsy, can be difficult to use if wearing field gloves or the operator's hands are anything more than a medium size Grumbles aside, the rest of the kit is a solid package.

Quikclot
Great for people on triple or double blood thinners. Works great if small cuts accidentally done anywhere. Stoped bleeding so quickly that would have required hard pressure and holding and elevating for ten minutes
Haemostatic dressing
Great price. I have previously purchased larger dressing. But having the availability of something smaller is a great option.

5.11 UCR IFAK
This is a great kit. It comes with an elastic/velcro strap so you can attach it to the headrest on your car or other suitable location. I like the loops on the outside as you can slide trauma shears or a sharpie in there for quick access. It is bigger than the Operator IFAK pouch and holds a few extra things. I leave this in the truck and use it as my main trauma kit to supplement the Operator IFAK which is my EDC. When I did the THREAT course through Careflight I learnt that you need to have the ability to move quickly and take everything with you so the pouch system of this pack works a bit better than the zip-open clamshell design of the Operator IFAK. It's just a bit easier to jam stuff back in securely if you have to move. Both kits are great in their own way and contain the same items. Your circumstances will dictate the best one for you.
