The BOA Constricting Band was originally developed for the US Armed Forces and is now a key tool in tactical and trauma care for successful IV access. Whether treating combat casualties or patients with difficult veins, this band helps improve venous access even in high-pressure environments.

Its unique rolling action directs venous blood flow to distal veins while still allowing arterial circulation, reducing procedure time and increasing success rates. Ideal for use with trauma patients, diabetics, or individuals with chronic vascular issues, the BOA is an essential addition to any field medical kit.

  • Military-Grade Design: Built for the US Armed Forces and tested in high-stress environments
  • Improved Venous Access: Rolling action improves blood flow to peripheral veins
  • Time-Efficient: Reduces time to achieve successful IV placement in emergencies
  • Versatile Use: Effective for combat, civilian trauma, and patients with difficult venous access
  • Simple to Use: Placed high on the limb for optimal performance

What is the BOA Constricting Band used for?

The BOA Constricting Band is used to improve venous access for IV cannulation in tactical and trauma care settings, especially in patients with difficult vascular access.

How does the BOA Constricting Band work?

It uses a rolling constriction mechanism that transfuses venous blood to distal veins while maintaining arterial flow, promoting easier and more effective IV placement.

Is the BOA suitable for combat situations?

Yes, it was originally created for military use and is highly effective in combat or high-stress medical environments.

Can it be used on patients with poor vascular access?

Absolutely. It’s especially useful for patients with diabetes, chronic wounds, or generally hard-to-find veins.

How should the BOA be placed?

For best results, place the BOA as high up on the limb as possible to promote optimal venous pooling and access.

The Boa does what is designed for. The XL that I bought does not appear to be tbat big and thus is quite sore when applied to patients with greater adipose tissue
