The RISE™ (Rigid Immobilization System for Extremities) is a compact, low-profile splint designed to support extremity fractures and provide pelvic stabilization in prehospital settings. Born from battlefield demands, this rugged tool can be quickly configured into a straight splint, 90-degree splint, or pelvic stabilizer and secured using an elastic wrap or pressure bandage.
Its dynamic living hinges enable easy folding and compact storage while offering a form-fitting structure for upper and lower limb immobilization. Small enough to fit inside most IFAKs—including military-issued kits—the RISE™ is ideal for medics, first responders, and trauma-trained personnel.
Engineered from a durable, lightweight polymer, the RISE™ is resistant to saltwater and harsh field conditions. It also features precision-cut slots that, when paired with a tourniquet such as the SOF® Tourniquet, allow rapid transformation into a pelvic stabilizer.
Recognized by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC), pelvic stabilization and splinting are essential steps in reducing further injury during evacuation.
