The Techline Trauma Shrapnel Wound in a Box Simulator is a compact task trainer that simulates a soft-tissue shrapnel wound, used to instruct students in proper wound packing technique at an elevated skill level.

Unlike standard wound trainers, this simulator incorporates a hard fractured bone element inside the wound cavity, adding complexity and realism to the packing challenge. It is constructed from high-quality silicone rubber using patented SOFTTECH and ROCKTECH materials, which deliver durability and UV resistance. Integrated blood tubing supports connection to a bleeding system for simulated haemorrhage flow. The trainer comes in its own storage case for safe transport and storage.

  • Fractured Bone Insert: Hard bone element inside the wound cavity elevates the difficulty and realism of wound packing practice.
  • SOFTTECH and ROCKTECH Materials: Patented dual-material construction replicates both soft tissue and bone for combined tactile feedback.
  • Integrated Blood Tubing: Connects to a blood supply system for active simulated haemorrhage during training.
  • UV-Resistant Silicone: Durable silicone construction resists UV degradation for long-term use.
  • Included Storage Case: Dedicated case for safe transport between training locations.

Why does this trainer include a bone element?

The fractured bone inside the wound cavity is designed to increase the skill demand of wound packing, preparing students for complex shrapnel injuries where bony structures may complicate haemorrhage control.

Is this compatible with NAR blood supply pumps?

Yes. The integrated blood tubing connects to a compatible blood supply pump (sold separately) for simulated haemorrhage flow.

How does this compare to the standard GSW or Laceration trainers?

The Shrapnel trainer adds a fractured bone element and uses both SOFTTECH and ROCKTECH materials, making it a more advanced challenge for students who have already practised with the standard wound trainers.
