The Haemorrhage Control Simulator Lifecast Arm is a full lifecast of an adult arm featuring two distinct wound presentations in a single unit — a junctional wound near the axilla suitable for wound packing, and a radial artery laceration for tourniquet application training. That dual-wound capability means trainees encounter a more complex casualty from the outset: two bleeding sites, two different interventions required, and a decision to make about which to address first.
The Lifecast Arm includes an internal feedback system — bleeding stops when haemorrhage is correctly controlled, giving trainees immediate, objective confirmation that the intervention worked. The stabilising bracket is included, securing the arm to a bench or table surface so trainees can apply meaningful packing pressure without the unit shifting.
Paired with the Haemostatic Clotting Trainer — available in gunshot wound, laceration, or large packing wound configuration — the kit covers wound packing practice across multiple injury types and anatomical locations. What is SimClot used for?
TraumaSim SimClot is a simulated haemostatic agent used with the HCT to replicate haemostatic gauze application during wound packing training — allowing trainees to practise the full intervention sequence, not just the mechanical packing motion.
Can both trainers be run simultaneously?
Yes. The Lifecast Arm and HCT operate independently — instructors can run both training stations simultaneously for parallel trainee throughput.
Can the trainers be run dry?
Yes. Both trainers support dry operation for introductory sessions or environments where fluid management isn't practical. TraumaSim recommends wet operation for maximum realism and feedback quality.
