The Patient Monitoring Suite brings realistic vital signs monitoring to any training scenario, allowing responders to assess and treat a casualty using the same monitoring modalities they rely on in practice. It works across all phases of patient care, with any human role-player or any patient simulator.
The suite pairs three simulated monitoring devices — capnography, pulse oximetry and non-invasive blood pressure — with control delivered through the NAR Simulation Instructor Tablet. The operator drives a casualty's deteriorating or improving condition remotely, so trainees respond to changing vital signs without the instructor breaking scenario immersion. Because the suite attaches to a role-player or any simulator, a single kit extends realistic monitoring across an entire training programme.
Choosing Your Configuration
This suite is available with or without the NAR Simulation Instructor Tablet — select your option above.
- With Instructor Tablet: The complete package. Choose this if you are setting up monitoring control for the first time, or want a dedicated tablet for this suite.
- Without Instructor Tablet: The three monitoring simulators only. Choose this if you already operate a NAR Simulation Instructor Tablet that can control the suite. If you are unsure whether your existing tablet is compatible, our team can confirm before you order.

- Capnograph Simulator: Mainstream CO₂ monitor connected in-line with a mask or tube, displaying carbon dioxide partial pressure, respiratory rate and the CO₂ waveform.
- Pulse Oximeter Simulator: Finger-style probe displaying heart rate, SpO₂ and the SpO₂ waveform.
- NIBP Monitor Simulator: Portable non-invasive blood pressure monitor replica displaying systolic and diastolic pressures (mmHg) and heart rate.
- Remote Tablet Control: All student-visible values are set and adjusted remotely via the NAR Simulation Instructor Tablet, supporting dynamic scenarios without instructor involvement at the patient.
- Universal Compatibility: Used with any human role-player or any patient simulator, maximising versatility across mixed-equipment training environments.
- All Phases of Care: Suitable for use from point of injury through to handover, supporting continuity across the full patient care pathway.
What's the difference between the two options?
Both options include the three monitoring simulators. The "with tablet" option adds the NAR Simulation Instructor Tablet for scenario control; the "without tablet" option suits operators who already have a compatible tablet.
Can the suite be used with any simulator, or only NAR manikins?
It works with any human role-player or any patient simulator, making it well suited to simulation centres running mixed equipment.
Does an instructor need to be at the patient to change the vital signs?
No. All student-visible values are controlled remotely from the instructor tablet, so the operator can drive the scenario without breaking immersion at the casualty.
Which monitoring modalities are included?
Three: end-tidal CO₂ capnography, pulse oximetry (SpO₂), and non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) — each with the relevant digital values and waveforms.
