TraumaSim's Stab Wound is a self-adhesive silicone wound prosthetic delivering a medically accurate representation of a penetrating stab wound — designed to apply directly to skin, manikin surfaces, or clothing for realistic casualty presentation in scenario-based training.
Manufactured from durable, life-like silicone with tapered edges that blend naturally into the surrounding surface, the stab wound profile reflects the characteristic narrow penetrating wound channel associated with knife or sharp implement injuries. The detail and depth of the wound face create an immediately credible visual presentation — the kind that prompts genuine clinical assessment rather than a cursory look.
Like all TraumaSim self-adhesive silicone wounds, it's a foundational moulage tool. Apply it to the torso, neck, arm, or leg depending on your scenario, then build the complete casualty presentation around it — Ben Nye stage blood and fresh scab to create active or dried bleeding effects, distressed clothing cut or torn to reflect the penetrating mechanism, and environmental positioning consistent with an assault or stabbing incident. That layering is what transforms a wound prosthetic into a compelling training scenario.
All TraumaSim silicone wounds are self-adhesive, washable, and reusable. Available individually and as part of TraumaSim moulage kits.
Various skin tones are available. Commonly requested tones are held in standard stock; others are manufactured to order — contact TacMed Australia before ordering if a specific tone is required.

What type of injury does this simulate?
A penetrating stab wound — reflecting the narrow, deep wound channel characteristic of a knife or sharp implement injury. It's a distinct presentation from blunt force lacerations, gunshot wounds, or fragmentation injuries, and is particularly relevant to assault, domestic violence, and urban trauma training scenarios.
Is this a wearable wound or a task trainer?
Neither. This is a self-adhesive silicone wound prosthetic — a stick-on moulage piece applied to skin, a manikin surface, or clothing to create a realistic wound presentation. It has no bleeding capacity, no internal function, and no strapping system. For wearable wound options with bleeding capacity, see the TraumaWear range.
Does it include bleeding capacity?
No. This is a static wound prosthetic. For a stab wound with integrated bleeding capacity, see the TraumaSim Stab Wound with Bleeding Capacity variant. To add surface bleeding effects, apply Ben Nye Stage Blood and Fresh Scab around the wound site.
How do I apply it?
Peel and apply directly to clean, dry skin, a manikin surface, or clothing. The self-adhesive backing holds without additional adhesive products. Tapered edges blend naturally into the surrounding surface.
How do I build a complete casualty presentation?
Apply stage blood and fresh scab around the wound to simulate active or dried bleeding, cut or tear clothing to reflect the penetrating mechanism of injury, and position the casualty in an environment consistent with a stabbing or assault incident. This contextual layering significantly increases scenario realism and trainee immersion.
Is it reusable?
Yes. All TraumaSim silicone wounds are washable and reusable. Clean gently after each use, allow to dry fully, and store flat to maintain the adhesive backing.
What skin tones are available?
Commonly requested tones are held in standard stock. Other tones are manufactured to order — contact TacMed Australia before placing your order to confirm availability and lead times.
Can I purchase this as part of a kit?
Yes. The stab wound is included in selected TraumaSim moulage kits. Contact TacMed Australia for details.
