The TraumaSim Evisceration Wearable is a high-fidelity wearable silicone wound garment simulating a realistic abdominal evisceration — one of the most visually confronting and clinically complex trauma presentations a first responder or tactical medic will encounter in training or the field.

Abdominal evisceration — where abdominal organs protrude through a wound in the abdominal wall — is a high-severity, high-distress injury that demands a specific and disciplined clinical response. The instinct to replace exposed organs is wrong. Correct management requires protecting exposed tissue with a moist, non-adherent dressing, managing the patient for shock, avoiding contamination of the eviscerated tissue, preventing further organ damage, and preparing for urgent surgical care. That response sequence requires prior scenario exposure — the confronting nature of the presentation means trainees who haven't encountered it before are at risk of fixating on the visual impact rather than executing a correct clinical response.

This wearable delivers that exposure in a controlled training environment. The realistic silicone evisceration presentation — exposed abdominal tissue with lifelike colour and texture detail — creates the immediate visual impact that makes this a genuinely useful training tool. The wearable design secures across a range of body sizes for both role players and selected manikins, and applies rapidly for efficient scenario setup without extended preparation time.

Training objectives this presentation supports are broad: abdominal trauma assessment, exposed tissue wound protection, patient positioning for evisceration injury, shock recognition and management, patient communication in a high-distress presentation, and escalation and transport decision-making. The injury is relevant across penetrating abdominal trauma, blast injury, vehicle accidents, industrial incidents, and tactical scenarios — making it applicable across military, emergency services, and civilian first aid training programs.

To complete the casualty presentation, pair with Ben Nye stage blood and fresh scab applied around the wound margins and eviscerated tissue, cut or distress abdominal clothing to expose the wound with mechanism-appropriate damage, and position the casualty in an environment consistent with the scenario mechanism.

For advanced combat and tactical evisceration scenarios requiring higher-intensity presentation, see the TraumaSim Combat Evisceration wearable.

All TraumaWear is washable and built for repeated use. Supplied with a TraumaSim carry bag for storage and transport.

Note: Each unit is hand finished — minor variation in appearance may occur. Manikin not included.

What injury does this simulate?
Abdominal evisceration — a high-severity penetrating abdominal injury where abdominal organs protrude through a wound in the abdominal wall. It's associated with penetrating abdominal trauma, blast injury, vehicle accidents, industrial incidents, and tactical combat scenarios.

Why is evisceration-specific training important?
Evisceration is one of the most visually confronting injuries a first responder can encounter, and the instinctive response — to replace or cover the exposed organs — is incorrect and can cause additional harm. Correct management requires protecting exposed tissue with a moist non-adherent dressing, managing for shock, preventing contamination, and preparing for urgent surgical care. Trainees who haven't encountered this presentation before are at risk of fixating on the visual rather than executing the correct response. Prior scenario exposure in a controlled environment is what builds the clinical discipline this injury type requires.

What training objectives does this support?
Abdominal trauma assessment, exposed tissue wound protection technique, correct patient positioning for evisceration injury, shock recognition and management, patient communication in a high-distress presentation, and escalation and transport decision-making.

How does the wearable secure to the role player?
The unit is designed to be secured across a range of body sizes — refer to the included user guide for fitting and adjustment instructions. It is compatible with selected training manikins as well as live role players.

How do I enhance the presentation?
Apply Ben Nye stage blood and fresh scab around the wound margins and eviscerated tissue for active or dried bleeding effects. Cut or distress abdominal clothing to expose the wound with mechanism-appropriate damage — tears, burns, blood transfer — and position the casualty in an environment consistent with the scenario mechanism.

Is there a more advanced combat version available?
Yes. The TraumaSim Combat Evisceration is available for higher-intensity tactical presentations requiring a more severe evisceration profile. Contact TacMed Australia for details.

Is it compatible with training manikins?
Yes — compatible with selected manikins. Refer to the user guide for manikin compatibility guidance.

Is it washable?
Yes. All TraumaWear is washable and designed for repeated use. Clean after each session, dry thoroughly, and store in the included carry bag.

What skin tones are available?
11 tones are available: 00 Porcelain, 01 Light, 02 Medium, 03 Olive, 04 Medium Olive, 05 Rosy, 06 Warm Rosy, 07 Warm Tan, 08 Tan, 09 Dark Tan, and 10 Dark. Commonly requested tones are held in standard stock. Other tones are manufactured to order — contact TacMed Australia before placing your order to confirm availability and lead times.

What are the packaging dimensions and weight?
Packaging dimensions are 45 cm x 25 cm x 10 cm. Weight is 1 kg. Note that listed dimensions refer to packaging only — product dimensions vary as each unit is individually hand finished.

Who is this suited to?
Military medical training programs, tactical law enforcement, TCCC and TECC instructors, emergency services training organisations, pre-hospital care educators, and civilian first aid programs where penetrating abdominal trauma and evisceration management are part of the training curriculum.
