The Operator IFAK (Immediate First Aid Kit) is a compact, high-quality trauma care kit designed to provide immediate medical attention at the point of injury in life-threatening emergencies. The Operator IFAK Kit focuses on bleeding control and critical trauma care, not minor first aid.
In high-risk environments, you may be the first and only responder in the first minutes of an emergency. An IFAK is designed to give you immediate access to life-saving trauma equipment when seconds matter.
The Operator IFAK Kit is configured for individual carry on a belt, vest, or pack, with components selected to manage severe bleeding and traumatic injuries. It’s built for rapid access, intuitive layout, and use under stress.
Packaged in a durable, MOLLE-compatible nylon pouch, the Operator IFAK is available in three colours (Red, Multicam, and Rescue Orange). It can be worn on any platform with MOLLE webbing or directly on a belt for easy access. This kit is equipped with the essential tools to address the major causes of preventable death from penetrating injuries, such as severe bleeding and chest trauma.
Please note:
- The Operator IFAK now contains a Hyfin Vent Compact Chest Seal (Twin Pack) from North American Rescue, replacing the Halo Chest Seal.
- The Operator IFAK Kit - Red includes a SOF Tactical Tourniquet - Wide Rescue Orange. The Multicam version comes with a SOF Tactical Tourniquet - Wide Tan.

What is an IFAK?
An IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) is a compact trauma kit designed for immediate self-aid or buddy-aid in life-threatening emergencies. It focuses on bleeding control and critical trauma care rather than minor first aid.
Who is the Operator IFAK Kit designed for?
The Operator IFAK Kit is designed for individuals operating in higher-risk environments, including emergency responders, defence and law enforcement personnel, remote workers, and trained civilians.
Is an IFAK the same as a first aid kit?
No. A first aid kit is intended for minor injuries such as cuts and burns. An IFAK is designed to manage severe bleeding and trauma until advanced medical care is available.
Can civilians carry and use an IFAK?
Yes. Civilians can carry and use an IFAK. As with all trauma equipment, appropriate training is strongly recommended.
Does the Operator IFAK Kit include a tourniquet?
Yes. The Operator IFAK Kit includes a tourniquet as part of its haemorrhage control capability.
Do I need training to use an IFAK?
Strongly recommended. While the components are straightforward, training improves speed, confidence, and effectiveness under stress.
Where should an IFAK be carried?
IFAKs are commonly carried on belts, plate carriers, vests, or packs where they can be accessed quickly with either hand.
Is the Operator IFAK Kit suitable for vehicles?
While it can be stored in a vehicle, this kit is designed for individual carry. For vehicle-based response, a dedicated vehicle trauma kit is recommended.
