TraumaSim's Gunshot Wound 7.62mm Entry with Bleeding Capacity is a self-adhesive silicone wound prosthetic that combines a medically accurate 7.62mm ballistic entry wound presentation with integrated active bleeding capability — bridging the gap between static wound moulage and functional haemorrhage control training in a single, versatile piece.
The standard 7.62mm Entry prosthetic delivers a realistic wound presentation for assessment and scenario immersion. This variant takes that a step further — the integrated bleeding tube allows instructors or role players to activate active haemorrhage during the scenario, turning a wound assessment exercise into a live bleeding control event. Trainees don't just identify the wound; they respond to it under the time pressure and cognitive load that active bleeding creates.
The bleeding tube routes discreetly beneath clothing or alongside the body, connecting to an included 20 ml syringe that can be concealed on the role player and self-activated during the scenario. That self-activation capability is operationally significant — it means the bleeding starts at the moment the scenario demands it, without instructor intervention, and without breaking the immersion of the training event.
This makes the prosthetic particularly well suited to TCCC and TECC training where the wound assessment and haemorrhage control sequence needs to flow as a single, uninterrupted scenario — identify, decide, intervene — rather than a segmented exercise with instructor-managed transitions between phases.
To complete the casualty presentation, pair with Ben Nye stage blood and fresh scab around the wound site, distress clothing with a corresponding entry point, and position the casualty in a tactically consistent environment. For scenarios requiring a complete through-and-through ballistic presentation, pair with a corresponding exit wound prosthetic on the opposite surface.
Each unit is hand finished — minor variation in appearance between units should be expected. Tones 01 Light and 08 Tan are shown in product images.
All TraumaSim silicone wounds are self-adhesive, washable, and reusable. Available individually and as part of TraumaSim moulage kits.

How does the bleeding capacity work?
An integrated bleeding tube is routed through the wound and can be concealed discreetly beneath clothing or alongside the body. A 20 ml syringe filled with simulated blood connects to the tube and can be held by the role player. Depressing the syringe activates blood flow from the wound site at the moment the scenario requires it — without instructor intervention.
How does this differ from the standard 7.62mm Entry prosthetic?
The standard 7.62mm Entry is a static wound prosthetic — realistic visual presentation for wound identification and assessment training. This variant adds integrated active bleeding capability, converting the prosthetic into a haemorrhage control training tool. The right choice depends on your training objective: wound assessment only, or the complete assess-and-intervene sequence with active bleeding feedback.
What training programs is this suited to?
TCCC, TECC, pre-hospital care, tactical law enforcement, military medical training, emergency services education, and any program where ballistic wound assessment and haemorrhage control are trained as a connected, sequential skill rather than separate exercises.
Can I pair this with an exit wound prosthetic?
Yes. For complete through-and-through ballistic presentations, apply a corresponding exit wound prosthetic on the opposite surface. The bleeding capacity on this entry wound prosthetic can simulate haemorrhage at the entry site; stage blood applied at the exit site completes the bilateral presentation.
Can the bleeding tube be concealed effectively under clothing?
Yes. The tube is designed to be routed discreetly beneath or alongside clothing. Position and conceal it during casualty setup before trainees arrive on scene — the role player can then self-activate the bleed at the appropriate scenario moment without the concealment being obvious.
Is this a wearable wound or a task trainer?
Neither. It's a self-adhesive silicone wound prosthetic with integrated bleeding capacity — applied directly to skin, manikin surfaces, or clothing. It is not a garment or strapping system.
Is it reusable?
Yes. The prosthetic is washable and designed for repeated use. Clean gently after each session, flush the bleeding tube, allow to dry fully, and store flat to maintain the adhesive backing.
What skin tones are available?
11 tones are available: 00 Porcelain, 01 Light, 02 Medium, 03 Olive, 04 Medium Olive, 05 Rosy, 06 Warm Rosy, 07 Warm Tan, 08 Tan, 09 Dark Tan, and 10 Dark. Tones 01 Light and 08 Tan are shown in product images and held in standard stock. Other tones are manufactured to order — contact TacMed Australia before placing your order to confirm availability and lead times.
What are the packaging dimensions and weight?
Packaging dimensions are 11 cm x 17 cm x 0.2 cm. Weight is 0.2 kg. Note that listed dimensions refer to packaging only — product dimensions vary as each unit is individually hand finished.
Can I purchase this as part of a kit?
Yes. TraumaSim silicone wounds are available individually and in kit configurations. Contact TacMed Australia for details.
