TacMed’s Premium Snake Bite Bandage with Indicator is an essential tool for anyone venturing into snake-prone environments. Designed with built-in pressure indicators, it helps ensure the correct compression is applied to immobilise venom and reduce its spread. Trusted by hikers, outdoor professionals, and rural workers, this bandage is lightweight, compact, and highly effective for emergency snakebite care.

The bandage is purpose-built for the Pressure Immobilisation Technique (PIT), which is the recommended treatment for all Australian snake bites, Funnel Web Spider bites, Blue Ringed Octopus stings, and Cone Shell stings. With up to 10 metres of stretchable coverage, it is long enough for large limbs and uses unique stitching technology for consistent pressure application.

This premium pressure bandage is a must-have in any remote or wilderness first aid kit.

  • Premium heavyweight conforming PIT bandage
  • Built-in indicators show when correct compression is achieved
  • Durable and stretchable material for maximum coverage
  • Compact and lightweight for easy portability
  • Suitable for snake bites, spider bites, and marine stings

How does the pressure indicator work?

The printed indicator guides you to apply the correct compression. When stretched properly, the shapes change — helping ensure PIT technique is followed effectively.

Can this bandage be reused?

No, it’s a single-use item. Reusing it can compromise its elasticity and hygiene — always replace after use.

Is this bandage suitable for all snake bites?

Yes. It’s designed for use on most venomous snake bites in Australia, as well as Funnel Web Spider bites, Blue Ringed Octopus stings, and Cone Shell stings. Always seek medical help immediately after application.

What is the Pressure Immobilisation Technique (PIT)?

PIT is a method to slow venom spread by applying firm pressure and immobilising the affected limb. This bandage is specifically engineered for safe and accurate PIT application.

How is this bandage different from a regular elastic bandage?

Unlike a standard elastic bandage, this snake bite bandage has a built-in tension indicator that ensures the correct pressure for PIT. This helps prevent under- or over-tightening, which can make the treatment less effective.

How long can you leave a snake bite bandage on?

The bandage should stay on until medical professionals remove it. Do not loosen or remove it yourself, as this can cause venom to spread more rapidly. Immediate medical treatment is essential after application.

Do I need more than one snake bite bandage?

Yes, in many cases two or more bandages are required to immobilise the entire limb, particularly for adult casualties or bites higher up the leg or arm. Carrying multiple bandages is recommended in snake-prone areas.

I had need for the snake bite bandage recently and having it at arms reach made all the difference. Far more practical than having to get back to the truck and rummage through the lockers and large first aid kit full of not very useful things in the event of any real trauma situation.
