QuikClot uses kaolin, a mineral that accelerates the body’s natural clotting process. When applied to a bleeding wound, it helps blood clot faster, reducing blood loss until surgical care is available.

Does QuikClot Combat Gauze expire?

How is QuikClot different from regular gauze?

Unlike standard gauze, QuikClot is impregnated with kaolin, which actively promotes blood clotting. This makes it much more effective for controlling severe or life-threatening haemorrhage.

How does QuikClot compare to Celox?

Both QuikClot and Celox are leading haemostatic agents. QuikClot uses kaolin to speed up the body’s natural clotting, while Celox uses chitosan, which works independently of the body’s clotting factors. Both are effective, and choice often comes down to agency preference and training.

Can QuikClot Combat Gauze be used for wound packing?

Yes. It is specifically designed for packing into penetrating trauma such as gunshot wounds, stab injuries, and blast trauma, where bleeding control is critical.
