The TraumaSim Emergency Tourniquet Trainer — Set of 2 is a dual-unit reactive haemorrhage control training system built for programs that need to run multiple learners simultaneously without compromising on realism or feedback quality.
Each unit in the set replicates arterial haemorrhage that will only occlude when correct tourniquet technique, placement, and tension are achieved. If the application is wrong — wrong placement, insufficient tension, poor windlass technique — bleeding continues. The trainee has to reassess and correct. That reactive feedback loop is what separates genuine skill acquisition from procedural checkbox training, and it's the core design principle behind the entire ETT range.
Developed with input from Australian Defence Force medics, the ETT was benchmarked against the resistance and pressure required to occlude an actual arterial bleed. The included 5-litre manual pressure pump system allows instructors to simulate arterial flow under pressure across both units, delivering repeatable, consistent sessions without complex setup.
The set of 2 configuration is specifically suited to group training environments — running two participants simultaneously, supporting competitive drills, reducing downtime between repetitions, and allowing instructors to observe and assess two trainees at once. Units are available in arm or leg amputation configurations, and can be selected as a matching pair or mixed combination depending on training objectives.
Suitable for wet and dry training environments. Used internationally by Defence forces, military medical teams, police, paramedics, fire and rescue services, hospitals, and training organisations.
Available in multiple skin tones. Contact TacMed Australia before ordering if a specific tone is required.

- World-first dedicated tourniquet training system: Designed specifically for tourniquet skill acquisition — not a general-purpose task trainer adapted for the role.
- Reactive arterial bleeding with occlusion feedback: Bleeding only stops when correct technique, placement, and tension are achieved — incorrect application keeps the bleed going, forcing reassessment.
- ADF-benchmarked resistance: Developed with Australian Defence Force medic input and benchmarked against the pressure required to occlude a real arterial bleed.
- 5-litre manual pressure pump system included: Simulates arterial flow under pressure across both units for repeatable, consistent training sessions.
- Dual-unit configuration: Train two participants simultaneously — reduces downtime, supports competitive drills, and improves instructor observation capacity.
- Arm and leg configurations available: Units can be selected as a matching pair or mixed combination to suit specific training objectives.
- Wet and dry environment capable: Suitable for field, classroom, and scenario-based training environments.
- Durable construction: Built for repeated high-volume training use.
- Multiple skin tones available: Contact TacMed Australia for tone options before ordering.
How does the reactive feedback system work?
Each unit replicates arterial haemorrhage under pressure. The bleed will only occlude when the tourniquet is applied with correct placement and sufficient tension to replicate real arterial occlusion. If technique is incorrect, bleeding continues — the trainee must reassess and adjust. This mirrors the real consequence of poor tourniquet application and drives genuine skill development rather than procedural familiarity.
Why choose the Set of 2 over a single unit?
The dual configuration allows two participants to train simultaneously — reducing session downtime, supporting side-by-side instructor assessment, and enabling competitive application drills. For group training programs, Defence units, and high-volume first aid courses, the efficiency gain is significant.
Can the units be configured as different limb types?
Yes. Units are available in arm or leg amputation configurations and can be ordered as a matching pair or a mixed arm/leg combination to suit your training objectives. Specify your preferred configuration at the time of order.
What tourniquets are compatible with this trainer?
The ETT is designed for use with standard-issue tourniquets including the C.A.T® Gen 7 and SOF-T Wide. It's built to replicate the resistance and tension required for real arterial occlusion, so any tourniquet used in your program can be trained on and assessed.
What is the pressure pump system for?
The included 5-litre manual pressure pump system allows instructors to pressurise the arterial flow simulation across both units. This creates consistent, repeatable bleeding pressure across training sessions — ensuring each trainee encounters the same resistance regardless of session order.
Is it suitable for outdoor or wet environment training?
Yes. The ETT is designed for both wet and dry training environments, making it suitable for field exercises, outdoor training lanes, and scenario-based exercises as well as indoor classroom use.
What fabric sleeve colours are available?
Each unit includes a fabric sleeve in either Blue or Khaki. Specify your preferred colour at the time of order.
What skin tones are available?
Multiple skin tones are available. Contact TacMed Australia before placing your order to confirm available tones and lead times for manufactured-to-order options.
Who uses the Emergency Tourniquet Trainer?
The ETT range is used internationally by Defence forces, military medical teams, police and law enforcement, paramedics, fire and rescue services, hospitals, universities, and training organisations. It's suited to any program where tourniquet application is a assessed competency.
What are the dimensions and weight?
The set measures 58 cm x 42 cm x 23 cm and weighs 18 kg.
