The TraumaSim Emergency Tourniquet Trainer — Set of 4 is the high-capacity configuration of the world's first dedicated tourniquet training system, built for large group instruction, Defence training environments, emergency services academies, and any program where throughput and training efficiency are operational requirements.
Each of the four units replicates severe arterial haemorrhage that will only occlude when correct tourniquet placement, tension, and technique are achieved. Incorrect application keeps the bleed running — the trainee must reassess and correct. That reactive feedback loop is the core of what makes the ETT range genuinely effective for skill acquisition rather than procedural familiarity, and it scales directly across all four units simultaneously.
Developed in consultation with Australian Defence Force medics and benchmarked against the resistance and pressure required to occlude a real arterial bleed, the ETT doesn't let trainees get away with under-tension application. The system communicates exactly what a real tourniquet needs to communicate: that partial effort doesn't stop arterial bleeding.
The included 5-litre manual pressure pump system connects to all four units via a purpose-built adapter and tubing configuration — single, double, and quadruple adapters are all included, along with 1.2 m lengths of 6 mm PVC tubing for each unit. This allows instructors to run all four units from a single pump, maintaining consistent arterial flow pressure across simultaneous training lanes.
The set of 4 configuration supports competitive drills, side-by-side instructor assessment across multiple trainees, and the kind of high-repetition volume that builds genuine muscle memory and confidence under pressure. Sets can be configured as matching or mixed arm and leg combinations depending on training objectives.
Suitable for wet and dry training environments. Used internationally by Defence forces, Special Operations units, military medical teams, police, paramedics, fire and rescue services, hospitals, and training organisations.

- User Guide
- World-first dedicated tourniquet training system: Purpose-designed for tourniquet skill acquisition — not a general task trainer adapted for the role.
- Reactive arterial bleeding with occlusion feedback: Bleeding only stops when correct placement, tension, and technique are achieved across all four units simultaneously.
- ADF-benchmarked resistance: Developed with Australian Defence Force medic input and benchmarked against the pressure required to occlude a real arterial bleed.
- Four-unit simultaneous operation: Train up to four participants at once — reduces downtime, supports competitive drills, and maximises instructor observation capacity.
- Complete pump and distribution system included: Single 5-litre manual pressure pump with single, double, and quadruple adapters and four individual tubing lengths — runs all four units from one pump.
- Flexible limb configuration: Available as 4 x Arms, 4 x Legs, 2 x Legs + 2 x Arms, or 1 x Leg + 3 x Arms.
- Wet and dry environment capable: Suitable for field exercises, training lanes, and indoor classroom use.
- Robust, reusable construction: Built for high-volume, repeated training use.
- Multiple skin tones available: Contact TacMed Australia for tone options.
- Fabric sleeves in Blue or Khaki: Specify preference at time of order.
How does the reactive feedback system work across four units?
Each unit independently replicates arterial haemorrhage under pressure from the central pump system. The bleed on each unit will only occlude when that unit's tourniquet is applied with correct placement and sufficient tension. Incorrect technique on any unit keeps that unit bleeding — each trainee gets independent, objective feedback regardless of what the others are doing.
How does the pump system connect to four units simultaneously?
The included adapter set — single, double, and quadruple adapters — distributes flow from the single 5-litre manual pressure pump across all four units via individual 1.2 m PVC tubing lengths. The full distribution system is included in the set.
What limb configurations are available?
The set of 4 can be configured as: 4 x Arms, 4 x Legs, 2 x Legs + 2 x Arms, or 1 x Leg + 3 x Arms. Specify your preferred configuration at the time of order.
Why choose the Set of 4 over the Set of 2?
The Set of 4 doubles training throughput — running four simultaneous training lanes rather than two. For academies, Defence units, and large emergency response programs where group sizes make the Set of 2 a bottleneck, the Set of 4 is the appropriate configuration. It also includes a more comprehensive adapter and tubing set for multi-unit operation.
What tourniquets are compatible with this trainer?
The ETT is compatible with standard-issue tourniquets including the C.A.T® Gen 7 and SOF-T Wide. It's benchmarked to replicate the resistance and tension required for real arterial occlusion, so any tourniquet used in your program can be trained and assessed on the system.
What is the red food colouring for?
The included red food colouring is used to colour water for the bleeding simulation fluid — a straightforward, cost-effective alternative to simulated blood for high-volume training sessions where consumable cost is a consideration.
Is it suitable for outdoor or wet environment training?
Yes. The ETT is designed for both wet and dry training environments — suitable for field exercises, outdoor training lanes, and scenario-based exercises as well as indoor classroom and gymnasium use.
What fabric sleeve colours are available?
Blue or Khaki. Specify your preferred colour at the time of order.
What skin tones are available?
Multiple skin tones are available. Contact TacMed Australia before placing your order to confirm available tones and lead times for manufactured-to-order options.
What are the dimensions and weight?
The set measures 70 cm x 55 cm x 38 cm and weighs 23 kg.
Who uses the Emergency Tourniquet Trainer?
The ETT range is used internationally by Defence forces, Special Operations units, military medical teams, police and law enforcement, paramedics, fire and rescue services, hospitals, universities, and training organisations globally.
