A 7.62mm ballistic entry wound — the penetrating injury profile produced when a higher-energy rifle-calibre projectile enters the body. Entry wounds present as relatively defined, compact wounds with tissue detail reflecting the projectile's entry path — distinct from the larger disruption typically seen at the exit site.

What is the difference between this and the 7.62mm Entry with Bleeding Capacity?
This is a static wound prosthetic — realistic visual presentation for wound identification and assessment training, with no integrated bleeding function. The Bleeding Capacity variant adds an integrated bleeding tube and 20 ml syringe for active haemorrhage simulation during the scenario. Choose this variant for assessment-focused training; choose the Bleeding Capacity variant when active haemorrhage control is the training objective.

Should I pair this with an exit wound prosthetic?
For complete through-and-through ballistic presentations, yes. Apply this entry wound on the entry surface and a corresponding Small, Medium, or Large exit wound prosthetic on the opposite surface. The contrast between the defined entry wound margin and the more extensive exit wound disruption is itself a training element — helping trainees understand wound ballistics and apply that understanding to clinical assessment.

What scenarios is this suited to?

Will the wound look exactly as shown?
Each unit is hand painted and individually hand finished — minor variation in appearance and exact wound dimensions should be expected. This is a characteristic of the hand-made production process and does not affect training value.

Is it reusable?
Yes. All TraumaSim silicone wounds are washable and reusable. Clean gently after each use, allow to dry fully, and store flat to maintain the adhesive backing between sessions.

What skin tones are available?
11 tones are available: 00 Porcelain, 01 Light, 02 Medium, 03 Olive, 04 Medium Olive, 05 Rosy, 06 Warm Rosy, 07 Warm Tan, 08 Tan, 09 Dark Tan, and 10 Dark.
