TraumaSim's Laceration Jagged 2 is a self-adhesive silicone wound prosthetic presenting a second jagged laceration profile — a distinct irregular, torn wound pattern that reflects the injury characteristics of high-energy blunt force, fragmentation, vehicle trauma, machinery contact, or similar mechanisms where tissue is torn rather than cut.

The "Jagged 2" designation indicates this is a separate wound design from the standard Jagged Laceration — a different shape, margin pattern, and surface detail. Having two distinct jagged laceration variants in a kit or training program matters practically: trainees encounter varied wound presentations rather than recognising the same prosthetic repeatedly, keeping wound assessment a genuine skill exercise rather than a pattern-matching one. It also allows instructors to apply multiple wounds to a single casualty with visual differentiation between sites — more consistent with real multi-wound trauma presentations.

Manufactured from durable, life-like silicone with tapered edges that blend naturally onto skin, manikin surfaces, or clothing, the wound face delivers realistic tissue disruption detail for an immediately credible presentation. At 11 cm x 11 cm x 0.4 cm, it's compact and versatile — suitable for application to most body surfaces across a wide range of scenario types.

To build a complete casualty presentation, apply Ben Nye stage blood and fresh scab around the wound to simulate active or dried bleeding, distress clothing to reflect the mechanism of injury, and position the casualty in an environment consistent with the scenario. Jagged laceration presentations particularly benefit from torn or shredded clothing and directional blood transfer to communicate the energy of the mechanism.

All TraumaSim silicone wounds are self-adhesive, washable, and reusable. Available individually and as part of TraumaSim moulage kits.

Available in 11 skin tones: 00 Porcelain, 01 Light, 02 Medium, 03 Olive, 04 Medium Olive, 05 Rosy, 06 Warm Rosy, 07 Warm Tan, 08 Tan, 09 Dark Tan, and 10 Dark. Commonly requested tones are held in standard stock; others are manufactured to order — contact TacMed Australia before ordering if a specific tone is required.

  • User Guide
  • Second jagged laceration design: Distinct wound shape and margin profile from the standard Jagged Laceration — adds variety to multi-wound presentations and prevents trainee pattern recognition.
  • Irregular torn wound margin: Reflects high-energy blunt force, fragmentation, machinery, or vehicle trauma mechanisms — distinct from sharp force or ballistic wound presentations.
  • Self-adhesive silicone construction: Applies directly to skin, manikin surfaces, or clothing without additional adhesives.
  • Tapered edges: Blend naturally into the surrounding surface for seamless presentation with no visible border.
  • Compact and versatile: 11 cm x 11 cm x 0.4 cm — applies cleanly to most body surfaces and scenario setups.
  • Durable and reusable: Washable silicone construction designed for repeated training use.
  • Available individually and in kits: Can be purchased standalone or as part of TraumaSim moulage kit configurations.
  • 11 skin tones available: Commonly requested tones held in stock; others manufactured to order.

What injury does this simulate?
An irregular, jagged laceration reflecting torn wound margins from high-energy blunt force, fragmentation, machinery contact, vehicle trauma, or similar mechanisms where tissue is torn rather than cleanly cut. It's mechanically distinct from sharp force lacerations and presents a different wound recognition and assessment challenge.

How does this differ from the standard Jagged Laceration?
The Laceration Jagged 2 is a separate wound design — different shape, margin pattern, and surface detail. Having two distinct jagged laceration variants allows instructors to apply multiple wounds with visible differentiation, prevents trainees from recognising the same prosthetic across sessions, and more accurately reflects the varied wound presentations encountered in real multi-wound trauma.

Is this a wearable wound or a task trainer?
Neither. This is a self-adhesive silicone wound prosthetic — applied to skin, manikin surfaces, or clothing to create a wound presentation. It has no internal function or strapping system.

Does it include bleeding capacity?
No. This is a static wound prosthetic. To add bleeding effects, apply Ben Nye Stage Blood and Fresh Scab around the wound site during scenario setup.

How do I apply it?
Peel and apply directly to clean, dry skin, a manikin surface, or clothing. The self-adhesive backing holds without additional adhesive products. Tapered edges blend naturally into the surrounding surface.

Is it reusable?
Yes. All TraumaSim silicone wounds are washable and reusable. Clean gently after each use, allow to dry fully, and store flat to maintain the adhesive backing between sessions.

What skin tones are available?
11 tones are available: 00 Porcelain, 01 Light, 02 Medium, 03 Olive, 04 Medium Olive, 05 Rosy, 06 Warm Rosy, 07 Warm Tan, 08 Tan, 09 Dark Tan, and 10 Dark. Commonly requested tones are held in standard stock. Other tones are manufactured to order — contact TacMed Australia before placing your order to confirm availability and lead times.

What are the dimensions and weight?
The prosthetic measures 11 cm x 11 cm x 0.4 cm and weighs 0.05 kg.

Can I purchase this as part of a kit?
Yes. TraumaSim silicone wounds are available individually and in kit configurations. Contact TacMed Australia for details on kits that include this wound.
