TraumaSim's Laceration Jagged 3 is a self-adhesive silicone wound prosthetic presenting the third and largest distinct jagged laceration design in the TraumaSim range — an irregular, heavily torn wound pattern reflecting severe high-energy trauma from blunt force, fragmentation, machinery, vehicle impact, or blast mechanisms.
At 13 cm x 16.5 cm x 0.5 cm, this is a significantly larger and deeper wound than the Jagged 1 and Jagged 2 variants — sized and profiled for high-impact casualty presentations where the severity of the wound needs to communicate immediately and unambiguously. The larger surface area and increased depth of the wound face make it particularly effective for prominent body surface placement — thighs, torso, upper arms, and back — where wound severity is central to the scenario and trainee response.
Having three distinct jagged laceration variants available — each with a different size, shape, margin profile, and surface detail — gives instructors genuine flexibility in scenario design. Apply all three to a single mass trauma casualty for a realistic multi-wound presentation with visible wound variation across sites. Rotate between variants across training sessions to prevent trainees from recognising and pre-empting the same wound each time. Use the larger Jagged 3 as the primary wound with Jagged 1 or 2 as secondary sites to create a clinically realistic wound severity hierarchy that forces prioritisation decisions.
Manufactured from durable, life-like silicone with tapered edges that blend naturally onto skin, manikin surfaces, or clothing. Hand painted — minor variation in appearance between units should be expected.
To complete the casualty presentation, apply Ben Nye stage blood and fresh scab across and around the wound, distress clothing to reflect the mechanism, and position the casualty in an environment consistent with a high-energy trauma incident. For vehicle, machinery, or blast scenarios, environmental props and positioning that communicate mechanism significantly increase trainee immersion and the quality of clinical decision-making during the scenario.
All TraumaSim silicone wounds are self-adhesive, washable, and reusable. Available individually and as part of TraumaSim moulage kits.
Available in 11 skin tones: 00 Porcelain, 01 Light, 02 Medium, 03 Olive, 04 Medium Olive, 05 Rosy, 06 Warm Rosy, 07 Warm Tan, 08 Tan, 09 Dark Tan, and 10 Dark. Commonly requested tones are held in standard stock; others are manufactured to order — contact TacMed Australia before ordering if a specific tone is required.

- User Guide
- Largest jagged laceration in the TraumaSim range: 13 cm x 16.5 cm x 0.5 cm — sized for high-impact placement where wound severity needs to communicate immediately.
- Third distinct jagged laceration design: Different size, shape, margin profile, and surface detail from Jagged 1 and Jagged 2 — enables genuine wound variety across multi-site and multi-session training.
- Severe irregular torn wound margin: Reflects high-energy blunt force, fragmentation, machinery, vehicle impact, or blast mechanisms — appropriate for the most severe end of the laceration injury spectrum.
- Self-adhesive silicone construction: Applies directly to skin, manikin surfaces, or clothing without additional adhesives.
- Tapered edges: Blend naturally into the surrounding surface for seamless presentation with no visible border.
- Durable and reusable: Washable silicone construction designed for repeated training use.
- Available individually and in kits: Can be purchased standalone or as part of TraumaSim moulage kit configurations.
- 11 skin tones available: Commonly requested tones held in stock; others manufactured to order.
What injury does this simulate?
A large, severely irregular jagged laceration reflecting the wound characteristics of high-energy blunt force, fragmentation, machinery contact, vehicle impact, or blast trauma — the most severe end of the laceration injury spectrum. The size and depth of the wound face communicate significant tissue disruption and injury severity immediately.
How does this differ from Laceration Jagged 1 and Jagged 2?
Size, depth, and wound profile are the key differences. Jagged 3 is the largest of the three variants — significantly bigger and deeper in the wound face — suited to high-impact, prominent placement where wound severity needs to be immediately apparent. Jagged 1 and 2 are smaller, more compact variants suited to a wider range of body surfaces and scenario types. Using all three together enables multi-wound presentations with genuine visual differentiation between sites.
Why have three jagged laceration variants?
Scenario variety and wound recognition integrity. With three distinct designs, instructors can rotate variants across training sessions to prevent trainees from recognising the same prosthetic repeatedly, apply multiple wounds to a single casualty with visible differentiation, and create wound severity hierarchies that force prioritisation decisions — all of which produce better training outcomes than a single repeated wound design.
Is this a wearable wound or a task trainer?
Neither. This is a self-adhesive silicone wound prosthetic — applied to skin, manikin surfaces, or clothing. It has no internal function or strapping system.
Does it include bleeding capacity?
No. This is a static wound prosthetic. To add bleeding effects, apply Ben Nye Stage Blood and Fresh Scab across and around the wound site during scenario setup.
How do I apply it?
Peel and apply directly to clean, dry skin, a manikin surface, or clothing. The self-adhesive backing holds without additional adhesive. Tapered edges blend naturally into the surrounding surface.
Is it reusable?
Yes. All TraumaSim silicone wounds are washable and reusable. Clean gently after each use, allow to dry fully, and store flat to maintain the adhesive backing and wound profile between sessions.
What skin tones are available?
11 tones are available: 00 Porcelain, 01 Light, 02 Medium, 03 Olive, 04 Medium Olive, 05 Rosy, 06 Warm Rosy, 07 Warm Tan, 08 Tan, 09 Dark Tan, and 10 Dark. Commonly requested tones are held in standard stock. Other tones are manufactured to order — contact TacMed Australia before placing your order to confirm availability and lead times.
What are the dimensions and weight?
The prosthetic measures 13 cm x 16.5 cm x 0.5 cm and weighs 0.2 kg.
Can I purchase this as part of a kit?
Yes. TraumaSim silicone wounds are available individually and in kit configurations. Contact TacMed Australia for details on kits that include this wound.
