The Bariatric Sked® Stretcher is a specialised solution designed to safely move obese patients through challenging areas, reducing the risk of back injuries for rescuers. Measuring 1.2 m wide—305 mm wider than the standard Sked—and 2.4 m long, it’s crafted from tough, non-absorbing polyethylene plastic to contain large patients and prevent injury.
Functioning like the standard Sked, it can be dragged over any terrain, including ramps to ambulance floors, or hoisted onto a bariatric gurney. It includes a pair of lift slings for accommodating various patient sizes, a large steel carabiner with a minimum break strength of 4,082 kg for hoist attachment, and a tow strap to assist two additional rescuers.
