K9 Diesel
The most advanced canine medical trainer available — designed in partnership with the US Department of Defense.
K9 Diesel is a full-body simulator for Operational Canine First Responders, Military Working Dog (MWD) handlers, Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians. A state-of-the-art skills trainer that simulates active breathing, audio cues and over 28 different features and medical intervention sites.
Each training site is designed to replicate the look, feel and function of actual medical procedures. Interchangeable limbs and injuries provide greater flexibility to vary wound patterns. K9 Diesel allows learners to perform a wide range of critical life-saving tasks with an incredibly realistic experience.
Canine
Fidelity.
Tactical Realism.
K9 Diesel is operated by a long-range wireless remote controller (RC) that includes real-time data to monitor medical interventions remotely. LED indicators and LCD readouts immediately display critical vital and intervention data — giving instructors instant feedback on the effectiveness of student interventions.
Push-button controls allow live modification of pulse rate, pulse strength, breathing, bleeding and sounds — including five distinct audio modes: growling, barking, whimper, stertor and stridor.
Interchangeable front and rear limbs expand wound pattern capability — combined with intestinal evisceration, GDV (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus), junctional wounds and lacerated paw to present the full range of canine trauma presentations encountered in operational and clinical environments.
K9 Diesel was developed in direct partnership with the DoD — ensuring training fidelity, intervention site accuracy and operational relevance are built into the platform from the ground up, not retrofitted.
Growling, barking, whimper, stertor and stridor — remotely selectable audio that reflects canine respiratory status and distress levels during training scenarios.
Bilateral pressure-sensitive axillary wounds with sensor feedback — when correct wound-packing pressure is applied, bleeding occludes and the RC signals success. Insufficient pressure keeps the wound bleeding.
Interchangeable front and rear limbs vary wound patterns across training sessions — preventing scenario familiarity and maintaining training fidelity over repeated use.
LED indicators and LCD readouts display critical vital and intervention data in real time — instructors see immediate feedback on CPR quality, needle decompression and IV/IO placement.
28+ Features
& Intervention
Sites
K9 Diesel's 28+ features and intervention sites are organised across six clinical domains. Every site is designed to replicate the look, feel and function of actual canine medical procedures — from basic airway management through to GDV, evisceration and IO infusion.
Remote
Controlled.
Real-Time Data.
K9 Diesel's wireless remote controller is what separates it from passive canine training models. Instructors control every parameter of the patient — breathing, pulse, bleeding, sounds — and receive real-time feedback on student intervention accuracy without approaching the platform.
Long-Range Wireless Controller With Live Intervention Monitoring
The RC system is designed to be easy to learn — takes only minutes to master. LED indicators and LCD readouts immediately display critical vital and intervention data, giving instructors instant assessment of student performance without disrupting the scenario.
Push-button controls allow real-time modification of all key parameters mid-scenario — instructors can escalate or de-escalate patient status in direct response to trainee interventions, creating a genuinely reactive training environment.
K9 Diesel's bilateral axillary wounds incorporate pressure-sensitive sensors that detect correct wound-packing technique — when sufficient pressure is applied, bleeding occludes and the RC signals success. Insufficient pressure keeps the wound bleeding. Trainees receive immediate, measured feedback on intervention quality.

K9 Diesel?
K9 Diesel is a specialist platform — the right deployment depends on your handler training program, veterinary curriculum and whether you're integrating with existing simulation infrastructure.
Our team includes in-house Paramedics and Special Operations Medics who understand both the operational context and the training requirements of MWD handler programs. Start with a conversation.
No obligation. No hard sell. A conversation about your training program.
Tell us about your K9 unit — working dog roles, casualty scenarios, operating environments and handler experience level. We'll identify which configuration fits your requirements and procurement pathway.
K9 Diesel works alongside your human casualty simulators and environmental platforms. We'll spec the right wound patterns and RC setup, and integrate K9 Diesel into your broader simulation program.
Consumables, maintenance guidance, scenario development and operator training as your K9 medical program matures. TacMed's after-sale support keeps your simulator investment operational.
