K9 Hero
Designed in partnership with the Department of Defense. The K9 Hero is a full-body canine medical simulator for MWD handlers, operational K9 first responders, veterinarians and vet technicians — hand-sculpted Belgian Malinois head, hydrophobic synthetic fur, 8 intervention training sites.
Built For The
Handler. And
The Dog.
The K9 Hero is a full-body canine medical trainer developed in partnership with the Department of Defense — purpose-built for Military Working Dog handlers, operational K9 first responders, veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Every training site is anatomically realistic.
The head has been hand-sculpted to mimic a Belgian Malinois with a realistic airway accepting 10–12mm tubes for proper intubation and bag ventilation. Hydrophobic fur with washable leg socks ensures durability across high-repetition training environments. All TacMed Solutions products are hand-crafted in the USA.
8 Intervention
Training Sites.
Every training site is anatomically realistic to replicate the look, feel and function of actual medical procedures. Designed for novice through to experienced handlers and clinicians — K9 Hero covers airway, haemorrhage control, vascular access, thoracic intervention, CPR and more.
Realistic airway with biomimetic jaw opening and tongue for proper intubation and bag ventilation. Accepts 10–12mm tubes. Chest rise and fall with correct tube placement — stomach rise indicates incorrect oesophageal placement. Mouth-to-snout resuscitation capable.
Saphenous hemostatic wound at the left hind leg with pressure-sensitive sensor — when correct pressure is applied, bleeding occludes and the RC signals success. Insufficient pressure keeps the wound bleeding. Reusable lacerated front paw (right) for suture and bandage training.
Needle decompression and thoracocentesis site — allows withdrawal of air, fluid, or both. Tracheostomy training site with multi-layered tissue for realistic surgical airway practice.
IV training site with flash cue — cephalic IV with bleeding. Infusible tibial IO training site with reusable bone plug. Adjustable femoral pulses via remote control.
CPR chest compressions with realistic resistance. Lifelike full anatomical skeletal motion. Bilateral femoral pulses. Approximate weight of 22.7kg for authentic patient handling training.
Wireless handheld remote with up to 200 metres outdoor range (50 m indoor). Real-time telemetry for sensor feedback on the saphenous hemostatic wound — pulse rate and strength adjustable via RC; instructor signal indicates correct pressure application during haemorrhage control.
